Term 1 PE

In PE so far we have done Athletics, Touch, Volleyball, Football and Ki O Rahi. The one I liked most was Touch because it was a sport I liked and we had 3 sessions. The one I liked least was athletics because athletics doesn't appeal to me as much as other sports. To improve I need to not let others distract me.

Whakanuia nga Ahurea Cultural Kete

For the past week and a half, we have done an inquiry about Whakanuia Nga Ahurea. Our cultural kete had to do with something about our culture like for me NZ European. We had a look at what cultural identity was and all the things to do with our culture and we then had a look at things we could do on these slides. Our cultural kete slides. I then chose to do a poster about something I was passionate about, which in my case was rugby. So the question I chose to do my inquiry about was how was rugby introduced to NZ. It was introduced by Charles John Munro who came from watching it in England and came back here to teach it in Nelson.

Hunt For The Wilderpeople film Review

Hunt for the Wilderpeople is a humorous movie. It's about an orphan called Ricky Baker and his Uncle going on the run from society. It was a well-constructed movie with funny bits everywhere but had a good storyline. They had big names like the director Taika Waititi, Julian Dennison, Stan Walker and Rhys Darby to list a few. They used Julian Denison brilliantly, same with Stan Walker but I feel they could've brought more with Rhys Darby. It was released in 2016 and grossed $1.2 million. Unsurprisingly, it won 7 awards. It won the best film, director and screenplay. Julian Dennison won the best actor, Sam Neil won the best supporting actor and Rima Te Wiata won the best-supporting actress. I recommend it to 8 years or higher and to anyone who wants to watch a comedic film with a good storyline. 

Taika Waititi DLO

We had to write a DLO about Taika Waititi and this is mine:

Taika David Cohen is known to many as Taika Waititi was born on 16 August 1975 as of writing this he is now 45 years old in the bay of plenty. He studied theatre at victoria university. In 2011 he married Chelsea Winstanley and have had 2 kids together. His second proper film called boy had received the Grand Jury Prize. He also directed What We Do In The Shadows and its second season received a prime time emmy award. In 2017 he was awarded New Zealander of the year. In 2018 he directed Marvels Thor Ragnarok. In 2019 he produced Jojo Rabbit and received 2 academy awards for his effort.
