Pontoon bridges were created for armies to cross a river instead of walking through them. They were created by planks from small boats so they put logs in and when the whole structure of the bridge is set they then slide the planks in to create a bridge for cars to cross and people to walk on. It's reusable because people can still walk over them instead of walking the long way around the river.
Hi Jack, a nice short paragraph that tells us about pontoon bridges. Great job putting the questions into a written answer. Can you remember in the novel where we came across Pontoon bridges.
