In hurumanu 1, we are doing our second SEXXY paragraph of the hunt for the wilder people.
Hec’s Haiku at Psycho Sam’s house was important to the film. It was important because it made the audience laugh but it also made them feel that Hec was warming up to Ricky after five months. Taika Waititi included it because it meant that Hec was trying to change and write a Haiku like Ricky always does. The lighting in this scene was very dim because it was at night, also Hec was trying to relax even after being on the run for five months. In my opinion, this was one of the more important bits of the film because it shaped some of the story and it was quite funny just like the whole movie.
I learned that it is important to give evidence in a text. This has helped my writing because it tells me the structure of what my writing should be. My favourite part of the film study has been watching the film.

ReplyDeleteThanks for focusing in English this week and sharing a variety of your work to your blog. I think you chose a challenging but effective topic to show the relationship changing between Hec and Ricky. I love how you identified that his attempt at writing a haiku was an important part of the film and I think you provided some great evidence. If we were able to continue on to the essay, I would have been really keen to see how you could have expanded this even more.
Keep challenging yourself through your English work, you are very capable!
